The Long Tom Watershed Council is hosting a tour of three urban stormwater projects in west Eugene all along the Amazon Creek bike path, and yes, attendees can – and are encouraged – to join us by bike! Tour stops will include Mountain Rose Herbs, Essex General Construction, and Gibson Steel Basins. These three local businesses have worked with LTWC to voluntarily improve local waterways by participating in LTWC’s “Trout Friendly Landscapes” Program. As we bike from project to project, our tour host, LTWC’s Urban Restoration & Stormwater Specialist, Sarah Whitney, will share how stormwater management can improve habitat and water health. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, either by bike or car. Tuesday, May 21st, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, starting at Mountain Rose Herbs Headquarters, 4020 Stewart Rd. More information and a tour map found at longtom.org/ 541-338-7055.
