March GreenLane Luncheon: Supporting Sustainable Events in Eugene
March 4 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm | $7.00 – $17.00
The City of Eugene’s Partnership with Event Planners to Ensure Sustainable Events
Eugene, while not the largest city in Oregon, is nonetheless a magnet for large-scale events, from world-class track and field meets, to multiple conferences, festivals and shows. This type of event can produce a disastrous amount of trash, but the City of Eugene has a plan for that.
Joining us for our March luncheon is Deveron Musgrave, Waste Prevention and Green Building Analyst with the City of Eugene, who will share how the City brings together all relevant stakeholders to develop a responsible event. The City implements a Triple Bottom Line approach when working with event planners. “Sustainable events can engage the community and inspire people to take action in their daily lives,” Deveron says. “Our goal is to ensure that large-scale events are an opportunity for event stakeholders to align their values with our community.”
Please join us to hear how the events we all enjoy are planned with sustainability in mind.
Meeting begins at 12pm; enhanced networking from 11:30-12:00.
