OEC’s deputy director, Chris Hagerbaumer, will share a bit about the Oregon Environmental Council work to build a sustainable economy via policy, economic development strategies and public outreach. She will be joined by Sasha Kadey of King Estate Winery to discuss the Carbon Neutral Challenge for Oregon Wineries, a joint effort of the Oregon Environmental Council and the Oregon Wine Board. King Estate Winery is participating in the challenge, to assess and reduce their carbon footprint, with the ultimate goal of becoming carbon neutral. Oregon wineries and vineyards – many of which have already adopted sustainable agricultural practices– recognize that climate change will have a significant impact on their ability to grow grapes and produce quality wines. To read more about the Carbon Neutral Challenge for Oregon Wineries, you can find more on OEC's website. www.oeconline.org
