Ethan Nelson, Solid Waste and Green Building Program Manger for the City of Eugene, invited GreenLane to participate in Eugene's first waste free holiday season this year. In King County, Washington, this program runs each year from Nov. 15th to December 31st. In the program, participating business and organizations offer discounts on services and products that encourage consumers to purchase holiday gifts that minimize waste.
Reducting waste is especially important during the holiday season. Americans throw away 25% more trash between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day than during any other time of the year. Waste Free Holidays rewards the public for reducing waste, and supports local businesses.
If you are interested in participating in this program during the holiday season this year, please contact Isbel Ingham (isbel [at] nextsteprecycling [dot] org), Kristena Cox (kcox [at] windermere [dot] com), or Ethan Nelson (ethan [dot] a [dot] nelson [at] ci [dot] eugene [dot] or [dot] us).
