Jones & Roth, a Eugene certified public accounting and business consulting firm, is the first business in Lane County to receive the Re:think Recognition Award for its efforts in reducing the firm’s environmental impact.
Re:think, a new program for businesses in Lane County, helps businesses learn to conserve resources which results in saving money. Participating businesses that meet conservation bench marks are eligible to receive the Re:think Award.
The program is a collaboration between BRING Recycling, a local non-profit resource conservation group, and Lane County Waste Management who has funded the program through a grant.
"Jones and Roth is a model for the business community", Carolyn Stein, Re:think’s program director, said. "They have made considerable effort to install energy efficient lighting, water conservation devices and to make conscious choices that prevent waste", Stein added.
"Our Jones and Roth Green Team has worked very hard over the past two years to lessen our firm's impact on the environment," Heidi Coleman, Jones and Roth executive assistant and green team leader, commented. "Our partners and staff are honored to be the first company in this area to earn the Re: think award; hopefully there will be many more Lane County companies who capture this award."
We are thrilled to receive this award as recognition for our accomplishments to date, but we feel our firm has more room for improvement in our efforts to reduce waste in all our offices," Doug Griesel, Jones & Roth managing partner, pointed out.
