Time to Re-THINK Re-CYCLING and look at Re-USE!

Today, November 15th, is America Recycles Day (ARD). ARD is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products. Celebrating its 12th year, it has grown to include millions of Americans pledging to increase their recycling habits at home and work and to buy products made with recycled materials.

At NextStep, we are always llooking for ways to take recycling to the NEXT STEP - meaning, what ELSE can we do to make a difference?

Yesterday, we teamed up with M.E.C.C.A. and the City of Springfield Public Library to offer our community another chance to "think outside of the recycling bin". www.kval.com/news/local/70119652.html

Recycling is a wonderful thing to do, but, we can have a greater impact if we REUSE material until it has truely reached the end of it's useful life. This doesn't just stop with bottles and cans. This principal can be applied to everything we manufacture.

The challenge for today: Don't buy anything new today. Give 10 things away. Conduct a waste audit and see what is actually in your trash can.

Ask you neighbor to do the same!
