Ron Kilcoyne, General Manager, Lane Transit District

Ronald Kilcoyne is the Lane Transit District’s new general manager and he would like to introduce himself to our GreenLane members. LTD is in its 41st year of operation, and Mr. Kilcoyne is the District’s fifth general manager. He replaced Mark Pangborn, who retired on June 30, 2011, after serving as director of administrative services, assistant general manager, and general manager during his 29 years at the District.

Mr. Kilcoyne left the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to return to the west coast and lead LTD. With 31 years of experience in transit, Mr. Kilcoyne brings strong leadership and vision to LTD. For the past seven years, Ron has served as the CEO/general manager at Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority, and has been active in the American Public Transit Association (APTA), serving on a variety of committees and as a member of the APTA Board of Directors. Prior to starting in Bridgeport, Ron spent 10 years as the transportation manager at the City of Santa Clarita. He began his career with AC Transit in Oakland, CA.

Mr. Kilcoyne has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco and has participated in various transit leadership programs, including the Transit Management Effectiveness Program at the University of California and the ENO Foundation International Transit Study Program. LTD Board President Mike Eyster noted, “The Board feels strongly that Ron Kilcoyne has what it takes to continue the great transit tradition LTD has built over the past 41 years. Ron’s leadership ability and understanding of transit’s role will allow LTD to effectively engage the public and work collaboratively with our jurisdictional partners in the coming years.”
